The Spanish Clay Society (SEA) is part of the International Association for the Study of Clays (AIPEA) and of the European Clay Groups Association (ECGA)

In accordance with its statutes, the aims of this Society are to: foster, promote, disseminate, and organize research and scientific and technological developments in the field of clays, encouraging relations between research centres and industry.

With these objectives in mind, the Spanish Clay Society promotes the following activities (among others): oorganizing meetings, courses, and conferences; holding scientific trips and visits to technical and research centres; publishing scientific texts; and providing technical and scientific consulting on topics in its domain.

It currently comprises over one hundred members, who are specialists in various areas. Its field of activity can be summarized in:
